Costa Rica is officially known as the Republic of Costa Rica. This beautiful country is located in Central America. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the east and south, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south and Caribbean Sea to the east. Costa Rica has maintained a low profile for a long period of time because of political instability.

Costa Rica is a very popular tourist destination in the world. Thousands of people visit this country due to its natural beauty and hospitable people. If you want to have a safe vacation in this enthralling country then you should check the governments current international travel warnings. Costa Rica is a very stable and peaceful country, so the Costa Rica government hardly ever issue any travel warnings.

You do not have to fear about any major epidemics of health risk, but still some aspects of the country like its geology, whether and social issues are to be worried about. You should pay full attention to all the warnings issued by this government before visiting this magical country.

Some of the warnings issued by the government for this country are as follows:

1.Earth quakes
Costa Rica is a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire and is affected by the Cocos Plate and the Caribbean Plate which sometimes causes earth quakes or volcanic eruptions. But these tragedies are extremely rare. You should always consult with the nearest Costa Rican embassy before planning a trip to this country.

2.Pick pockets and thieves
Costa Rica is a country which is very crowded with thieves, pickpockets and purse slashers. Your luggage can easily be stolen away if you are not very careful. Incidences of theft on the beach have also highly increased.

3.Car renting frauds
Car renting frauds are also very common in Costa Rica. If you are renting a car then avoid leaving your car parked in places where they can be easily stolen away such as public places or in front of your hotel. Always be careful to park your cars in places which are guarded by public guards.

4.Pacific view scams
Some people might take large sums of money from you in order to show you the pacific view, but seeing such views are very difficult because Costa Rica experiences heavy rain and drizzle all the year around which makes it a land of unique biosphere. The forests are surrounded by heavy clouds and fog.

5.Beware of wild animals
Costa Rica is a country where you can find wild animals in all shapes and sizes. Do not ever touch or hold these animals. There are many different kinds of wild things around the hotels such as monkeys, raccoons, lizards and scorpions.
